Calypso was the last G44 MK1 manufactured and features a cherry “A” interior with single head with separate shower to port and a full “U” shaped galley with peninsula to starboard. The forward cabin is normally configured as a living room with two swivel chairs and a built in entertainment center and easily converts into a private stateroom if you have guests staying over or can be converted to a full 6 person dinette if you have company for dinner. The coffee table opens for storage and becomes the base for a larger dining table stored behind the seat back. It supports the berths when they are swung into the center to form the island berth. The upholstery is ultra leather and features a bolstered block style.
The galley features a two place dinette “breakfast table” forward with a full cutlery drawer under. An 800 watt microwave can be powered from the ship’s batteries by a built-in inverter when off the dock. The refrigeration system uses a front loading freezer and and top loading fridge out outboard and opposite the sink. The island has a sink and half with ample storage under and a swing out dish and pot locker at the forward end.
The nav station is aft of the galley to starboard beside the companionway. It can be configured with a seat back using one of the berth cushions (as shown) or as a sea going quarter berth. The nav table features hinged fiddles which can be lowered when not required. There is ample room for electronics expansion.
To port and aft is the owner’s stateroom which features excellent ventilation including a skylight port that opens into the cockpit center pod. This provides a lot more light and is quite useful when off watch while under way. The aft head is accessed from the aft cabin but also has access to the centrally located shower. The shower itself has a door into the main cabin and has a wet locker located outboard.
The boat is well equipped with a Westerbeke 7.6kW generator, two zone reverse cycle air conditioning, bow thruster, dinghy, lighthouse windlass and ground tackle package, full Raymarine color electronics, 190 amp alternator with the 1400 amp hour battery package.
