SOLD Summer 2011 – 2005 Gozzard 37B Hull #16 “Galatea”

A rare opportunity indeed! “Galatea” is the only pre-owned Gozzard 37 to have been made available in the past 3 years… she is in pristine condition and the most current Gozzard to be offered on the used market in a long time.

The G37 is an upscale, updated replacement of the very successful G36. Sporting a taller and higher aspect ratio rig, a new keel and rudder and more usuable displacement, she is an extremely a well balanced blue water cruiser with surprising performance even in light air. The new sail plan allows for a more seamless transition as the wind speeds increase, making the boat even more manageable in the higher wind ranges. The reduced wetted surface area allows the boat to sail faster upwind and to react with more control when maneuvering in tight quarters… especially under power in reverse.

The “B” interior is ideally suited to the needs of a cruising couple and features our unique open V settee forward. This arrangement naturally provides comfortable relaxed seating with a coffee table but can be easily converted in less than a minute to a full dining table or a private stateroom with an island double berth. The 6 person table top is carefully stored behind a seat back and securely mounts to the base created by opening the coffee table. The seat bottoms hinge out over the closed coffee table to form an island berth. Bi-folding panels and a door can close the entire forward cabin off for conversion into a sleeping cabin.

The forward cabin has a built in propane space heater with tile surround in addition to a forward mounted 16000 BTU reverse cycle air conditioner.

The “B” model utilizes a larger two place dinette in combination with the nav station and has a massive galley with side by side fridge/freezer with more storage than most 40 footers. The 900 amp house batteries are located under the sink, low and on the centerline where they actually increase overall stability.

The side by side, top loading refrigeration and freezer compartments have separate and independant 12VDC cooling units. You can actually make ice in the freezer. The boxes are designed to work with a single cooling unit in the unlikely event one should ever fail.

The two place dinette is combined with the nav station with a chart table large enough for paper charts. Full color electronics are repeated at both the helm station and at the nav.

Constructed to be stronger and lighter than her G36 predecessors, the G37 features a full vacuum bagged Corecell hull and deck using Vinylester resin and full composite bulkheads. All furniture has been glassed to the hull and deck for increased stiffness.

The Westerbeke 55 diesel features the latest emmission controls and has 220 hours on the clock… this boat is barely broken in. It is fitted with a double belt driven 190 amp alternator. A full ground tackle package includes a Maxwell reversing windlass with remote cockpit control. The Caribe dinghy fits on the integral davits complete with a 4 stroke out board motor…

and much more – you would only need to add crew to go anywhere.
